Infiltration testing using double ring infiltrometers and mariotte tubes. Testing was undertaken in accordance with ASTM 3385 to demonstrate the low conductance of the ground and that a liner was not required in sediment basin.
Infiltration rate of a pond in sediment basin was also evaluated by measuring pond level using a datalogger and subtracting evaporation rate as evaluated from the mine weather station.
